HERRELL ELECTRIC CO.

        Herrell Electric was established in Mount Carroll, Illinois by Max E. Herrell.  Originally titled Carroll County Electric, the company has been a main stay in Mount Carroll since opening its doors in 1971. Minor changes have been made over the years, one thing that has stayed the same is family. 

        Max served his country in the United States Navy where he was honorably discharged.  He then started and served his electrical apprenticeship in St Louis, Missouri with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers  Local #1.  It was always Max's dream to open his own business. With that in mind he moved North and opened Carroll County Electric in 1971 in rural Mount Carroll, Illinois. 

        Carroll County Electric thrived on farm work and residential work from local residents in the area.  Integrating into light commercial and light industrial work, the company always stayed small with family deep in its roots.

        Howard Herrell, Max's son, served his electrical apprenticeship under his father.  Howard purchased the family business from his father in 1985 and continued to serve the people of Mount Carroll and Carroll County as well as outreaching areas.  Continuing to provide the same quality service and customer care as his father did before him and continues to do so still to this day.

       In 1995 Howard sold the company to Morse Electric out of Freeport, Illinois.  He continued to run the company for Morse Electric, working in the area on big projects like the new Mount Carroll High School and the Savanna Chestnut Park School as well as work at the Quad City Nuclear Power Plant. In 2003 he bought the company back from Morse and changed the name to Herrell Electric Co. where he continues to own and operate the company to date.

        Howard's son Anthony Herrell graduated from Mount Carroll High School in 1998, where he entered into the IBEW apprenticeship through local #145 in Rock Island, Illinois.  He served his 5 years and returned back to the area to work with his father in the family business.  He is in line to be the third generation owner of the family business.

       Herrell Electric is still operating out of Mount Carroll, Illinois and still serves the people of Northwest Illinois with the utmost quality and respect.  All electrical employees with Herrell Electric are licensed Journeyman, who maintain the latest National Electrical Code update certifications and continuing education courses.  Supplying the best service and safest work in the Northwest Illinois area.  We have been and are proud to serve you, our valued customers.
